As through a long-abandoned half-standing house

which, with its paneless windows and sagging crossbeams,

seems both ghost of the life that happened there

Every Riven Thing<\/i><\/a> is the third collection of poems by Christian Wiman, the editor of Poetry<\/i>. It also includes “Five Houses Down<\/a>” (The New Yorker<\/i>), “Gone for the Day, She Is the Day<\/a>” (The Christian Century<\/i>), and “Love Is the Word<\/a>” and two poems that originally appeared in The Atlantic<\/i>: “From a Window<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
