{"id":486,"date":"2010-02-17T23:57:25","date_gmt":"2010-02-18T03:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beatrice.com\/wordpress\/2010\/02\/17\/new-york-times-writeup\/"},"modified":"2010-02-17T23:58:04","modified_gmt":"2010-02-18T03:58:04","slug":"new-york-times-writeup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beatrice.com\/wordpress\/2010\/02\/17\/new-york-times-writeup\/","title":{"rendered":"A New York Times Writeup for the Author\/Blogger Series!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image485\" src=\"http:\/\/beatrice.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/mockett-recupido.jpg\" alt=\"mockett-recupido.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One recent project I&#8217;m really excited about is the launch of a new event series at Brooklyn&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenlightbookstore.com\">Greenlight Bookstore<\/a> that pairs up New York City bloggers with writers for reading and thoughtful conversation&#8212;Monday night, several of us braved the falling snow (and the half-functioning subway system) to meet <a href=\"http:\/\/mariemockett.com\/\">Marie Mutsuki Mockett<\/a> (left), the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powells.com\/partner\/29017\/biblio\/1555975410\"><i>Picking Bones from Ash<\/i><\/a>, and Amanda ReCupido, the creator of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.undomesticgoddess.com\/\"><i>The Undomestic Goddess<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The audience included a freelance journalist named Lori Adelman, who took the photo above and <a href=\"http:\/\/fort-greene.thelocal.nytimes.com\/2010\/02\/17\/feminist-in-ft-greene-author-and-blogger-chat-at-greenlight\/\">wrote about the event for <i>The Local<\/i><\/a>, a neighborhood blog hosted by the <i>New York Times<\/i>. The article does a great job of capturing the enthusiasm that those of us in attendance had for the discussion that followed a brief scene from Marie&#8217;s novel, as we touched upon a variety of literary and feminist themes.
