The Academy of American Poets has published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/viewmedia.php\/prmMID\/22227\" target=\"_blank\">an excerpt of the title poem<\/a>, and W.W. Norton has put &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/wwnorton.tumblr.com\/post\/4112725173\/blasphemy\" target=\"_blank\">Blasphemy<\/a>&#8221; online. <i>Blog This Rock<\/i> posted &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/blogthisrock.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/poet-as-public-citizen-martin-espada.html\" target=\"_blank\">Isabel&#8217;s Corrido<\/a>,&#8221; and I&#8217;ve also found video taken last year of Espada&#8217;s first public reading of that poem.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kEdbD2jWfCE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the poets&#8217; panel, after an hour of poets debating Ezra Pound, Abe the Lincoln veteran, remembering the Spanish Civil War, raised his hand and said: If I knew that a fascist was a great poet, I&#8217;d shoot him anyway.
