{"id":1193,"date":"2005-08-21T16:59:04","date_gmt":"2005-08-21T20:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beatrice.com\/wordpress\/2005\/08\/21\/as-predicted-heres-robert-anton-wilson\/"},"modified":"2005-08-21T16:59:04","modified_gmt":"2005-08-21T20:59:04","slug":"as-predicted-heres-robert-anton-wilson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beatrice.com\/wordpress\/2005\/08\/21\/as-predicted-heres-robert-anton-wilson\/","title":{"rendered":"As Predicted, Here&#8217;s Robert Anton Wilson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not in the <I>New York Times<\/I>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beatrice.com\/archives\/001678.html\">as I had hoped<\/A>, but <A href=\"http:\/\/www.metroactive.com\/papers\/cruz\/08.10.05\/wilson-0532.html\">this interview<\/A> in Santa Cruz&#8217;s alternative weekly, <I>Metroactive<\/I>, is a good look at the twilight years of &#8220;the most ripped-off artist of our time,&#8221; who blazed the trail for everything from <I>The Da Vinci Code<\/I> to <I>What the Bleep Do We Know?<\/I> His email correspondents include LSD inventor Albert Hoffman: &#8220;&#8221;He&#8217;s a fan of my books, and I&#8217;m a fan of his drugs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I picked that link up from a site which also gave me a pointer towards Wilson&#8217;s answers to <A href=\"http:\/\/www.mungbeing.com\/issue_1.html?page=21#62\">23 more questions<\/A>; the same article reports that the old trickster&#8217;s got at least one more book left in him, as <A href=\"http:\/\/newfalcon.com\/books\/email_to_universe.htm\"><I>Email to the Universe<\/I><\/A> is&#8230;well, it&#8217;s probably a bit optimistic to say that it&#8217;ll be showing up in your local bookstore, unless there&#8217;s some really hip people running it or it also sells magickal paraphenalia on the side.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve said it before, but it bears repeating: if you <I>really<\/I> want a novel to blow your mind and make you question two millennia worth of received history, pick up Wilson&#8217;s <A href=\"http:\/\/www.powells.com\/partner\/29017\/biblio\/044050306X\"><I>Masks of the Illuminati<\/I><\/A>.
