Wendy Welch and her husband moved to Big Stone Gap, Virginia, bought a home, and decided to turn it into a used bookstore. They didn’t have an easy time of it at first, but as they persevered, they found themselves forging deep connections with their community–and learning a lot about people’s relationships with books. I talked with Wendy about some of the early hurdles they faced, and about what led her to share her story in The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap.
