Was It Architectural Criticism or Anti-Corporate Spectacle?
by Ron HoganEven for an avowed William S. Burroughs fan like myself, $16,000 seems way too steep for two photographs from the 1970s, even if they are original gelatin silver prints by Gerard Malanga. They're great pictures, though--the one I didn't reproduce here, of WSB standing in front of the Burroughs corporate headquarters, is even better, but as David of BoingBoing points out, this one's pretty creepy when viewed through modern eyes. It really makes you wonder what the heck was going on with Burroughs and Malanga that day...not to mention, of course, how they managed to get out to the Brooklyn Bridge with a shotgun.
