Page Six Flubs Its Own Corporate Shill
by Ron HoganFor Page Six, Thursday's another day, another planted item for a HarperCollins book without disclosing the corporate ties between the publisher and the Post. (Yes, I know, this is hardly news, as Michael Cader pointed out a couple days ago in his Publishers Lunch newsletter.) Today, though, they managed to garble the assignment, as they report that "Judith Regan has made a deal to publish Straight Up and Dirty: The Life of a Young New York Divorcee, a humorous tell-all by blogger/photographer Stephanie Klein starting with fat camp." Stephanie (seen here getting the news from her agent) sets the record straight; Straight Up and Dirty will be "a humorous tell-all tracing the author's return to single life," while "a memoir based on the author's childhood experience at Fat Camp" constitutes the second book in her two-book deal. Remember, guys, when you crib from Michael's Deal Lunch, make sure you read all the words in the item!
