He's Doing It for the Sake of the Children
by Ron HoganOne-time George editor Richard Blow, who got a surprise #1 bestseller out of remembering his proximity to JFK Jr. in American Son, is legally changing his name to Richard Bradley, reports NY Post bookman Keith J. Kelly. "I'm writing books full time now and it's important to me that people focus on the work inside the covers and not get distracted by a name," he says:
"...And it's not about getting teased in high school everyone gets teased for something in high school." But he has wondered about future generations. "I just turned 40 and I'm thinking about starting a family and I figured now was the right time for a change," he said.
But what really pleases us about this item is the description of his editor, who works "at Harper Collins (owned by News Corp., which also owns The Post)." Those of you who have read Beatrice for any length of time know that I've ridden the paper, especially Page Six, hard for not making that disclosure in the past, so way to go, Keith!
