Those of You With or Knowing Small Children, Pay Attention

Tonight, the New York Times honors the ten best illustrated children's books of 2004. I'll admit that I hadn't seen these until the feature in last weekend's NYTBR, but I pretty much became a Kevin Henkes convert once I caught this illustration from Kitten's First Full Moon, which he discusses on his website. The other winners include illustration stars like Chris Raschka, Leo and Diane Dillon, and Stephen Savage. And while I was looking for those links, I found this list of seventy-five authors and illustrators everyone who gets books for children should know about.
