Your 2004 NBA Fiction All-Star Lineup

Over the last week, I was lucky enough to get interviews with each of the five writers nominated for this year's National Book Award, as seen from left to right in the photo below: Joan Silber & Lily Tuck, Kate Walbert, Sarah Shun-Lien Bynum, and Christine Schutt.

You can see them--along with the nominees for nonfiction, poetry, and young people's literature--tomorrow night (November 16th) at the New School, at a group reading that starts at 7:00 p.m. $5 gets you twenty top-rank authors in the space of a few hours; quite a bargain, I'd say!
