It Had to Happen Sooner or Later
by Ron HoganPublishers Lunch passes along a note from the Ann Arbor News about Amazon's latest plan: publishing the classics, or 200 of them anyway, in "a wide swath through the field of literature produced between the 1500s and the 1930s--all of which is now in the public domain." And, apparently, you'll be able to buy the complete set for just $4,000.
Me, I'll stick with Project Gutenberg and its free offerings, thanks very much.
UPDATE: Apparently, the Ann Arbor News got a bunch of stuff wrong the first time around.
