Finally, a PKD Adaptation That's Not an Action Film
(Not Counting the French One)

by Ron Hogan

The adult children of science fiction author Philip K. Dick run his official website. They report from the set of Richard Linklater's adaptation of Dick's A Scanner Darkly.

On the one hand, I can't wait. Finally, a thoughtful, respectful adaptation (at least, as it looks now.) On the other hand, Keanu Reeves. Ugh.

Two words: Richard Linklater.

And don't forget the Keanu maxim: As long as he doesn't speak, he's all right.

Linklater loves to have his actors speak. His movies are overflowing with dialogue. Sometimes dialogue where the actor has to emote. Maybe the illustrations will help Keanu.
It doesn't matter, I'll end up seeing it anyway.
