by Ron HoganBack in February, Stephen Joyce was making noise about how nobody in Ireland could use his grandfather James' texts to celebrate the Bloomsday centennial because he'd sue their asses in his capacity as copyright holder if they did. Well, the Irish government showed him what for, as "Irish MPs yesterday rushed through emergency legislation which will prevent Mr Joyce from suing the government and the National Library over an exhibition which displays 500 pages of Joyce manuscripts bought for 12.6m [euros] in 2002." Meanwhile, the Swiss courts have also given Stephen a cold shoulder, overruling a previous injunction against the vintners of "Cuvee James Joyce," which makes both red and white wines.
