Grand Master of the Comics

by Ron Hogan

eisner2.jpgI've mentioned him before, but it's never a bad time to sing the praises of Will Eisner, as Paul Fitzgerald does in WaPo. Like the previous profile I'd linked to, this piece mentions The Plot, his historical deconstruction of the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion, but Fitzgerald does a great job of filling out Eisner's own historical context and the long list of his contributions to the comics medium.

"Just call me a Jewish Frank McCourt," he says. "I'm a city boy. I love New York. That's what I know and that's what I write."
