From Russia With Faint Admiration
by Ron HoganMaud found a review of Tom Bissell's Chasing the Sea from the Moscow Times. I've mentioned before how much I enjoyed Bissell's description of his travels through the environmental and political disaster area that is modern Uzbekistan. Michael Bernstein wasn't as wild about it as I was, but still finds it "an informed, subtle and humorous take on a country that for decades has been relegated to the back pages of history."
The review's okay, but I'm more curious about the target audience for an English-language Moscow newspaper that's reviewing books from American publishers...
