The Golden Age of WiFi
by Ron HoganTom Dolby is about to go on a book tour to promote his debut novel, The Trouble Boy, but Page Six is already sold, gleefully reporting a milieu-authenticating namecheck of the gossip column, complete with a (well-done) imitation of the blind item house style. Dolby, whose own website states merely that he was born in London and grew up in San Francisco, is identified by the Post as "the British-born son of Ray Dolby, the creator and owner of Dolby Stereo," a revelation that struck me as giving Ray's trademark infringement suit against Thomas Dolby a whole new layer of meaning, although I felt a bit weird for thinking about it. (The story of that suit's here, if you work your way down.) Anyway, Christopher Rice has nice things to say about the novel, too, so my interest is definitely piqued.
